# PVsyst files

Download a Near Shading scene or a PVsyst project with equipment and weather.

Solesca provides two PVsyst downloads. Choose the one that matches the next step in your workflow.

## Near Shading

1. Choose **Download › Near Shading**.
2. In **Download Near Shading scene**, choose **All fields**, **Fixed only**, or **Trackers only**.
3. Click **Download** and import the PVC file into your PVsyst near-shading scene.

**Fixed only** includes fixed-tilt, carport, east-west, and flush-mount fields. **Trackers only** includes single-axis trackers. PVsyst handles fixed systems and trackers differently, so choose the family that matches the PVsyst system.

The file describes the layout's 3D shading scene. It is useful when you already have a PVsyst project and need the layout geometry.

## PVsyst Project

Choose **Download › PVsyst Project** to download a ZIP containing the project, a variant, weather data, and module and inverter files.

If the ZIP includes **EXPORT_NOTES.txt**, read it before running the imported project. It lists settings that need review or manual entry in PVsyst.

East-west fields are not included in the project export. A design containing only east-west fields cannot produce this project ZIP; use **Near Shading** for their scene geometry.

After import, review the layout, equipment, weather, and loss assumptions in PVsyst. Different modeling tools can produce different results.

## SolarFarmer

SolarFarmer is also available as a [simulation model in Solesca](https://docs.solesca.com/editor/simulate/) for eligible designs. Choosing it for modeling does not turn the PVsyst downloads into a native SolarFarmer project.
