# Energy modeling templates

Reuse weather-related assumptions, loss values, and thermal settings.

Open **Settings › Templates › Energy modeling**. These templates hold reusable energy assumptions for your design templates.

## Create or edit

Click **Template** to create a set, or open an existing row. Give it a name, review its modeling settings, and save it.

The settings include albedo, soiling and snow, electrical and other losses, and thermal assumptions. Use the units and explanations shown beside the inputs.

The list provides edit, duplicate, and delete actions. Duplicate an existing template when you need a separate set of assumptions.

## Use in a design template

Choose the energy modeling template when creating or editing a [design template](https://docs.solesca.com/system/design-templates/). Review the selected set before saving.

Existing fields keep their current settings until you apply or sync their design template. Review the field's modeling values after an update.

## Override one field

Select the field and open **Modeling & losses › Customize loss & modeling**. Save the override, then run the model again.

See [Losses and modeling settings](https://docs.solesca.com/editor/losses/) for monthly soiling, sign conventions, and automatic wiring losses.
