Modules and inverters
Choose equipment, import files, and manage your organization's library.
Open Settings › Equipment › Modules or Inverters. The equipment library is shared by your organization and supplies the editor’s equipment choices.
Find and add equipment
Switch between In your library and Full catalog. Search by manufacturer or model, inspect the equipment values, and use the row action to add an item to your library.
Review its nameplate values and datasheet before using it. Removing an item from your library is different from deleting equipment already used by a design.
Categories and editing
System identifies shared catalog equipment. Custom identifies equipment your organization added. Solesca generic identifies generic equipment.
Use the available view, edit, or duplicate actions. To make an organization-specific version of catalog equipment, duplicate it and review the copy’s values.
Existing designs retain their equipment references. If the app refuses to delete an item that is in use, replace it in the affected designs or templates first.
Import PAN and OND
- Open Modules and click Import PAN, or open Inverters and click Import OND.
- Choose the files.
- Review the import results, including warnings and skipped or rejected files.
- Inspect the imported equipment before selecting it in a design.
Imported items are added to your organization’s library. A rejected file does not mean the other files were rejected too; review each result.
Upload a datasheet
Use Upload datasheet (PDF) to add equipment from a manufacturer datasheet. Review the extracted values and supply missing information before using the equipment.
Datasheets can also be opened from the library. A catalog module with missing dimensions cannot be laid out until suitable dimensions are available.
Bifaciality
Bifaciality is set on the module, not the field. Review it in the module’s values and check the Bifaciality column in the library.
For a custom value, edit your organization’s module or create a copy as appropriate. Review designs and templates that use that module after changing it.
Use equipment in a design
Select a field and choose its Module and Inverter under Module & electrical, or select equipment through an inverter group.
Check string length and sizing after changing equipment, then model the design again. SolarFarmer requires uploaded PAN and OND files; see Model energy.
